Gillette

This project explores how a single object can be communicated across different visual purposes by moving through three distinct levels of detail: technical, rendered, and abstract. Beginning with a precise black-and-white technical drawing, the focus is on accuracy, proportion, and functionality, highlighting the razor’s structure and intended use. The next stage shifts into a rendered illustration, where color, texture, and form take priority over fine detail, translating the object into a more visually engaging and market-ready design. Finally, the abstraction phase pushes the object into a conceptual space, using simplification, negative space, and artistic interpretation to evoke mood or narrative rather than literal representation. Together, these stages demonstrate how designers refine and adapt visuals for commercial contexts, balancing clarity, aesthetics, and emotional appeal to effectively communicate to different audiences.
